Mathias Döpfner becomes Chairman of the Board of Ringier Axel Springer Switzerland

Ringier Axel Springer Schweiz AG will have a new Chairman of the Board of Directors: Dr. Mathias Döpfner, Chief Executive Officer of Axel Springer SE, succeeds Jan Bayer, who will focus on the U.S. brands Politico, Insider and Morning Brew as Chief News Media USA Officer at Axel Springer. 

The RASCH Board of Directors, newly chaired by Mathias Döpfner, is composed of Marc Walder, CEO Ringier AG (Vice Chairman), Dr. Annabella Bassler, CFO Ringier AG, and Patrick Wehrmann, Managing Director News Media Portfolio + Investments Axel Springer SE.

Ringier Axel Springer Schweiz AG is a joint venture between Ringier AG of Switzerland and Axel Springer SE of Germany. With a total of 26 titles such as ObserverLandLove or Swiss Illustrated and its counterpart in French-speaking Switzerland L'illustré Ringier Axel Springer Schweiz carries some of the widest-reach magazines and the largest magazine portfolio in Switzerland. Other focal points are business titles such as Handelszeitung or BALANCE SHEET as well as leading program media such as TELE or TV star. Ringier Axel Springer Schweiz AG was founded in 2016 as a 50:50 joint venture and employs around 400 people in Zurich and Lausanne.
