MySports finds more TV partners for ice hockey

After German-speaking Switzerland, the Sunrise-UPC pay-TV station MySports has also found the TV partners for the ice hockey championship in French-speaking Switzerland and Ticino. This means that SRG will be left out in the cold: There will be no more live games on its channels in the future.

MySportsLive regular-season and playoff games will be available on free TV on TV24, Léman Bleu and Teleticino in the future, MySports announced in a communiqué Wednesday: "Fans will benefit from more games on free TV, more digital offerings and more content on more channels through the partnerships."

At the beginning of March, Sunrise UPC announced that it had brought the Aargau media company CH Media and the Blick Group on board as partners for the ice hockey championship. (Werbewoche.ch reported). CH media station TV24 was already a partner of MySports, broadcasting one ice hockey game per week, and only during the regular season, but not in the playoffs. In the elimination games after the regular season, SRF has so far had a hand in it.

This will change as of next season. SRF is now out. "In the future, live games of the regular season and the playoffs will only be shown on free TV with the new partners. We are still in contact with SRG regarding a possible subsequent use of highlights," Sunrise UPC said.

More hockey broadcasts available free to air

On TV24, Léman Bleu and Teleticino, in addition to the free TV matches during the regular season, the match of the week would be shown on Sundays, as well as highlights of all the matches of the day after the conclusion of each match day, it said.

"As a streaming partner, the Blick Group will also broadcast one match live each week on Tuesday, with all goals and highlights available on Blick.ch. Further details and innovations will be communicated before the start of the new season," MySports wrote. (SDA)
