Publicom study: Republik.ch is the most competent media brand in Switzerland

The digital magazine republik.ch is the most competent Swiss media brand. The medium, which was only founded in 2018, is clearly ahead, followed by the Observer, Radio SRF 2 Culture and the New Zurich Newspaper. In the competence ranking for French-speaking Switzerland, RTS radio La 1ère leads, while in Ticino it is RSI TV station LA 1. These are the findings of this year's analyses of Publicom's Mediabrands study.

In this year's Mediabrands study, Publicom examined 181 media brands for their qualitative appeal to the audience. In terms of competence, no other media brand could match the independent online magazine Republik, which achieved the highest competence score in Switzerland. In second place by some distance is the consumer magazine Observerclosely followed by Radio SRF 2 Kultur and the New Zurich Newspaper. In total, six private Swiss media brands will make it into the "Top 10" for competence in German-speaking Switzerland in 2021.

With the French-language radio station La 1ère and the Italian-language TV station LA 1, two SRG stations receive top marks for competence in French-speaking Switzerland and Ticino. In Latin Switzerland, SRG radio stations occupy all the podium places, with the exception of the national daily Le Temps.

With the mediaBrands study, Publicom annually determines the brand performance of media brands among the Swiss population. The 2021 survey was conducted in April and May and is based on a representative sample of 4,700 people aged 15-79. The statistical margin of error is +/- 1.4 percent.
