Various innovations for "NZZ Format

An expanded thematic focus, a revised design and new availability on Nzz.ch: The documentation format "NZZ Format" comes up with several innovations at once - with an expanded range of topics, which is taken into account with a new design and also formally.

Verschiedene Neuerungen für «NZZ Format»The extended thematic focus kicks off with the "NZZ Format" documentary "The Last Days Before the Taliban," which will be broadcast for the first time on Thursday evening and marks the withdrawal of Western troops from Afghanistan.

According to NZZ, further documentaries focusing on international world events are planned until the end of the year. Among other things, the "NZZ Format" editorial team was on the road with Iraqi special forces fighting IS terrorists and accompanied "La Bestia" in Mexico, a freight train with which migrants from all over South America try to reach the USA. "The expanded thematic focus allows us to integrate 'NZZ Format' more thematically into NZZ's international and political reporting," says Markus Stein, Head of NZZ TV and NZZ Video.

Refreshed design

A new design is intended to underscore the expanded range of topics and visually bring "NZZ Format" closer together with the NZZ web videos. "Opening credits, closing credits, belly bands and other visual elements have a bold effect, yet are restrained enough to ensure that the packaging does justice to each topic," says Markus Stein of the new design.

"NZZ Format" is broadcast as a premiere every Thursday at 11 p.m. on SRF 1. From now on, the videos are also available in full length one day after the initial broadcast on Nzz.ch/video/format available.
