The job cuts are part of the austerity plan announced by TX Group in August 2020, the company said. (Werbewoche.ch reported). The Zurich-based media group confirmed to the Keystone-SDA news agency on Thursday a report by the newspaper La Liberté. The aim, he said, was to compensate for the decline in advertising revenues and to drive forward the transformation of the business model.

Accordingly, employees were informed in January of the elimination of around ten full-time positions in Western Switzerland in 2021. This figure has been reduced to 6.5 full-time positions due to unreplaced departures and other cost-cutting measures implemented since last summer.

The titles 24 Heures, Tribune de Genève and Bilan are not affected by the job cuts due to natural fluctuation, Tamedia further announced. A social plan for those affected has been under negotiation since the beginning of the year. (SDA)
