CH Media's Oneplus streaming platform to launch in fall

With its new Oneplus platform, CH Media Entertainment promises "a concentrated load of streaming pleasure. It is to be launched in Q4 2021 and will feature specially produced "originals" - and also offer a lot for film, documentary and series fans.

CH Media Entertainment announces first details of brand, content and distribution strategy. The newly developed Oneplus logo is reminiscent of the 3+ channel logo. "Our streaming platform is to benefit from the great awareness and entertainment image of the 3 Plus Group. The cube with the integrated Plus sign has stood for first-class entertainment for many years, and we are building on this with the logo creation. The name Oneplus is also ideally suited as an umbrella brand for our national TV portfolio around 3+ and TV24," says Roger Elsener, Managing Director Entertainment CH Media, about the brand strategy.

The focus of the naming was on the recognition value of the content positioning as the number 1 in Switzerland in private moving image entertainment and, at the same time, the clear differentiation from linear TV.

The streaming platform is already coming up trumps with Swiss "originals" at the start. Several "originals" from CH Media Entertainment are already in production. "Our aim is to put a new "original" on "oneplus" every week on average from the start. Among other things, we are producing a Swiss version of the dating format First Dates with Maximilian Baumann as host," says Roger Elsener.

Thanks to extensive partnerships with well-known national and international studios and the company's own film distributor Impuls Pictures, several thousand hours of pure film, series and documentary enjoyment will round off the extensive offering at the launch. Numerous current Hollywood blockbusters such as "Greenland" with Gerard Butler will be available to stream exclusively on "oneplus". "oneplus" also features a top selection of Swiss feature films such as "Platzspitzbaby," "Zwingli" and "Bruno Manser. Series highlights are also to become a fixed component of oneplus.

In the future, anyone who has missed a show on CH Media's national TV channels can catch up on it on Oneplus up to 30 days after its initial broadcast on linear TV. In addition, previews of popular 3+ and TV24 in-house productions can be streamed exclusively on the VoD platform even before their TV broadcast.

Quickline as first distribution partner

In addition to a desktop version and versions for iOS and Android, the new streaming service will also find its way onto TV sets. With the Swiss telecommunications company Quickline, the first distribution partner is already on board for the launch. The Quickline network with its 24 regionally based partners will offer its customers the Oneplus streaming service as a bundle from launch. "We are pleased that our customers will already benefit from Oneplus at launch. Quickline TV will give them easy and convenient access to the new streaming service and thus to even more attractive content. As a Swiss company, we are particularly pleased to be able to offer "oneplus", an exclusive Swiss entertainment service. 100 percent Swissness - that suits us perfectly," says Frédéric Goetschmann, CEO Quickline.

Freemium model launch

The new Swiss streaming platform will be launched as a freemium model, with a free version financed by advertising and an exclusive subscription variant.
