Digital goes Print: Xeit realizes the Guild print magazine

The Zurich-based agency Xeit was commissioned to produce the print magazine of the Guild of Established Swiss Restaurateurs.

xeit has been working with the Guild for some time now on various projects in the areas of social media, website creation, Google Ads, SEO and PR. With the assignment to develop and design the print magazine, this mandate list has now become a little longer.

Even though the agency has already produced printed matter on several occasions as part of combined online and offline measures - such as the Gilde Gourmet Guide - the full-scale implementation of a print magazine on this scale was new. Prior to implementation, individual articles in the magazine had already been published on Gilde.ch and used as content for the Guild's social media posts on Instagram and Facebook. The print magazine thus completes Xeit's content strategy.

 

Conceptualizing, editing, designing - and corona-induced redesigning

The Gilde magazine is published once or twice a year with a circulation of around 30,000 copies in German and French. The overall coordination of the topic and content planning, the editing as well as the complete graphic realization of the current and future issues was realized by Xeit.

The launch proved to be challenging for well-known reasons: All interviews could not be conducted on site, but only by telephone, and for the illustration of the magazine, pictures had to be provided. In addition, the publication date had to be postponed so that the magazine appears in August instead of spring 2020 as planned.

Since the beginning of August, the Gilde magazine has been available at the Gilde companies and all Gilde partners, where it can be read. Those who are "online only" can browse the pdf version on the Guild website.

Next year, Xeit will again assume overall editorial and design responsibility for the Guild magazines.
