Tamedia newspapers launch new websites

Following the launch of BZ Berner Zeitung in mid-February, Tamedia's other German-language newspapers Basler Zeitung, Der Bund, Tages-Anzeiger, Der Landbote, Zürichsee-Zeitung and Zürcher Unterländer have also had a new website since Monday.

With a focus on increasing mobile use, the design was fundamentally revised, new forms of presentation implemented and loading times significantly reduced. "The interest in our work has never been as great as it is today, we see this every day in the enormously high access figures," says Christoph Zimmer, Chief Product Officer Tamedia. "At the same time, most colleagues are working from home and the slump in advertising revenues is putting additional pressure on the media. We certainly would have liked a calmer environment for the changeover to the new website and editorial system. The first step has been taken today with the switch to the new websites of Tagesanzeiger.ch, Derbund.ch , Bazonline.ch , Landbote.ch , Zsz.ch and Toonline.ch but it worked out well, thanks to the great commitment of all the colleagues involved in editorial, production, technology and product. The changeover of the editorial systems will follow in the next few days."

The new online presence of the Tamedia newspapers initially affects the websites; the apps will be revised at a later date.
