Vanessa Meier will welcome Tele Züri viewers to Züri News from February 11, 2020. To succeed Maria Rodriguez, Tele Züri has been casting numerous young talents in recent weeks. "We want the biggest TV talents with us and we only find them through broad-based castings," explains Oliver Steffen, Co-Chief Editor CH Media TV Regional, about the selection process. Vanessa Meier convinced those responsible with her refreshing camera presence and excellent journalistic skills.

"I am very much looking forward to this new and exciting challenge. It's a privilege for me to anchor Züri News," says Meier about her new job. Meier has been working at Tele Züri as a video journalist since December. She will continue to perform this function in combination with her moderating activities.

The new Tele-Züri presenter studied journalism and communications at the ZHAW in Winterthur. She took her first steps in the television industry during an internship in SRG's Tagesschau newsroom. Most recently, Meier worked as a video journalist, news and talk presenter at Tele Top.
