Radio 24 closes anniversary year with 40 hours of live broadcasting

Radio 24 celebrates its 40th anniversary on Thursday, 28 November 2019. At the end of the anniversary year, the "Ufsteller" team Dominik Widmer and Nina Roost will broadcast in a presentation marathon of 40 hours without interruption.

The presenter duo will be joined by former Radio 24 presenters and guests such as radio pioneer Roger Schawinski, TV and radio legend Röbi Koller, Frank Baumann, Nik Hartmann, Patricia Boser, rapper Bligg and young talent Nickless. Together they look back on 40 years of passionate radio making.
On 28 November 1979, Radio 24, then still a pirate radio station, broadcast for the first time from Pizzo Groppera in Italy to Zurich, 130 kilometres away. From Wednesday at 23.59 hrs, the marathon can be heard on the Livestream, on which Instagram account of Radio 24 or - as always - can be followed on Radio 24.

Florian Wanner, Managing Director Radio, looks back on a year full of celebrations: "My respect belongs to Roger Schawinski, his team and their pioneering work. The emergence of the Swiss radio landscape is thanks to these pioneers and their sacrifice. I also thank the current Radio 24 team for their tireless efforts and creative ideas throughout the year".
