CH Media shows regional series about abandoned places in Switzerland

CH Media launches a four-part series "Forgotten Showpieces" on TeleZüri. In the four episodes, video journalist Luca Laube visits places steeped in history that have been forgotten.

On Tuesday, November 5, 2019, the series "Forgotten Splendors" will start on TeleZüri. In the four-part series, TeleZüri video journalist Luca Laube, together with contemporary witnesses and experts, sheds light on the storied past of four abandoned places in Switzerland. In each episode, Laube explores the reason why a rest stop, a railroad line, an indoor swimming pool or a drinking hall suddenly shut down and consequently become deserted and forgotten.

The Walensee service area, which has been empty for more than 16 years, kicks off the series. Together with the last active landlord, TeleZüri visits the forgotten rest stop and looks into the reasons that have led to its economic decline despite its prime location on the A3.

Forgotten places and broadcast dates on TeleZüri:

  • Service area Walensee, Obstalden GL on November 5
  • Bülach-Baden-Bahn AG/ZH on November 6
  • Indoor swimming pool Appenzell AI on November 7
  • Drinking Hall (Romansh: Büvetta), Tarasp GR on November 8.

The broadcast will take place after ZüriNews at around 6:20 pm. The series will also be broadcast on partner stations Tele M1, Tele Bärn, TVO and Tele 1.
