The Board of Trustees has elected Fehr as the new director of the Swiss School of Journalism, the school announced Wednesday. She will take up her post in May 2020. Fehr also represents a younger generation that is very familiar with digitization, Foundation Board President Res Strehle is quoted as saying in the statement.

The new director has many years of experience as a journalist. She was also editor-in-chief of the Somedia newspaper Südostschweiz and in February became head of journalism for all products bearing the Südostschweiz name - i.e. radio, TV, online and newspapers.

Training has long been a matter close to her heart, Fehr is quoted as saying. In addition to solid journalistic craftsmanship, digitalization and convergence must also be reflected in the MAZ's offerings.(SDA/swi)
