At the end of the year, Tamedia Publishing will discontinue the print edition of the Friday-magazine. This was reported by the publisher on Thursday.
A total of five permanent employees of the publishing house are affected. There will also be isolated reductions in staffing levels. The employees affected will be supported with a social plan.

From next year 20 Minutes Friday then be positioned as a purely digital brand in German-speaking and French-speaking Switzerland. To this end, the digital presence was revised and redesigned as a holistic lifestyle portal. The focus will remain on fashion, beauty, entertainment and social topics.

The publisher cites continuing declining advertising revenues as the reason for discontinuing the print edition. This had led to an increasing loss. (SDA/swi)
