Real estate specialist Haziri is the new "Bachelor

3+ presents its new, muscle-bound figurehead: Patric Haziri goes on the hunt for ratings as "Bachelor" from October 21 for the channel, which is soon to be sold.

Who will Dominik Kaiser give the last rose to in the sale? CH Media is the hottest contender for a 3+ takeover.

The format, which regularly brings 3+ dream ratings, is being launched for the eighth time. Together with "The Bachelorette," "Bumann der Restauranttester" and "Bauer, ledig, sucht...," "The Bachelor" belongs to the family of successful in-house productions that make the Swiss private station a coveted acquisition target.

Although the station is still in the red with its expensively produced hit formats, they bring the station ratings and attention that make it profitable overall. 3+ is expected to make a profit of eight to ten million francs a year on revenues of around 45 million francs.

CH Media could complete portfolio

How the Weltwoche revealed last week, the station could soon part with its face and founder Dominik Kaiser. He apparently wants to sell his "life's work" and has hired star banker Harry Hampson to push ahead with the planned transaction. The possible sales price is around 120 million Swiss francs. The package is also to include stations 4+, 5+ and 6+.

CH Media is the hottest candidate for acquisition. The joint venture between AZ Medien and the NZZ Media Group dominates the rest of the private TV market, owning not only regionally established stations like Tele Züri, Tele M1 and Tele Bärn, but also national stations like TV24, TV25 and S1. With TV24, CH Media is getting better and better - the reason being, for example, rights for sports broadcasts, which the media house affords itself. In the past, for example, international soccer matches were repeatedly shown on the station. With the live broadcast of the Laver Cup tennis tournament, TV24 reached more than 516,000 viewers last weekend and celebrated its highest ratings weekend since it began broadcasting.

ProSiebenSat.1 Media, on the other hand, seems to have no interest in taking over the Swiss private station. The German group is said to have already called it off.

Down-to-earth wanderer with fashion sense

So until a buyer is found, 3+ is now launching the next "Bachelor" season. On Tuesday, the broadcaster introduced the new main protagonist, who will be handing out roses in Thailand and sending ladies - who have arrived hoping for the big love or at least a few new Instagram followers - back home. Patric Haziri, a 29-year-old Swiss with Kosovar roots, manages the real estate portfolio in the family business full-time. His hobbies include traveling, hiking and designing menswear. Although he enjoys the jet-set life around the globe, according to a statement on Tuesday, those who know him know that the Zurich native is also very down-to-earth and also appreciates the simple things.

The grand finale of this year's "Bachelor" season will take place in December. Which of the 21 ladies Haziri will choose and whether 3+ will still belong to Dominik Kaiser remains to be seen.
