How RTS reportsjournalists from Le Matin approached the multimillionaire from the Valais. The latter stressed the importance of the newspaper for sports in western Switzerland - and that it could become a sports title along the lines of the French newspaper L'Equipe. Various sources are said to have confirmed to RTS that Constantin is "serious". The controversial president of the Valais soccer club has proven time and again for years that he is not a man of empty words.

That same evening, Constantin is said to have met with Tamedia management. Tamedia does not want to comment on this.

According to RTS, another investor is said to be interested in Le Matin. This is said to be a foreign media professional who has so far kept his name secret. Negotiations are being conducted by a small group of employees, supported by the unions and lawyers. The aim is to convince Tamedia that it would be better to look for a buyer instead of paying for a social plan. (hae)
