The name is intended to emphasize the joint venture's focus on the media business and, at the same time, on Switzerland, AZ Medien AG and the NZZ Media Group announced on Friday. CH Media is to reach every second inhabitant in eastern, northwestern and central Switzerland via print, online, TV and radio with more than 80 brands. The company will be present at over 25 locations in the regions. This will make CH Media one of the leading media companies in Switzerland, the two media houses write.

"When developing the appropriate company name, it was important to us to choose a name with a high degree of identification. Despite its independent appearance, the new company's traditional product brands are in the foreground. With CH Media, we want to give them a common home," Axel Wüstmann, CEO of AZ Medien and designated CEO of CH Media, said in Friday's statement. (hae/pd/SDA)
