The return of the licenses gives AZ Medien's radio stations more freedom in terms of content and offers potential for cooperation with other broadcasters, the company wrote on Wednesday. AZ Medien has not received any financial support from Bakom for the two radio stations Radio Argovia and Radio 24 to date. The return of the licenses is not associated with a realignment of the programming or a repositioning of the radio stations, AZ Medien writes. The regional public service will continue to be provided in full.

Bakom allows broadcaster licenses to be returned without being put out to tender again. Due to the planned switchover to DAB+, Bakom guarantees broadcasters, regardless of a broadcaster license, to maintain their FM broadcasting until this technology is discontinued.
