In "Die Höhle der Löwen," innovative company founders present their business ideas to well-known investors. The young entrepreneurs want to convince with their business model. They hope that the potential investors, known as "lions" on the show, will participate in the further and faster growth of the companies by providing capital in return for shares in the company. With their experience and expertise, the lions are supposed to help the young entrepreneurs achieve the breakthrough they are hoping for.
Die Höhle der Löwen" is already being broadcast in 22 countries. In the USA, the format has been running under the title "Shark Tank" since 2009 and has enabled several thousand new jobs since its inception. TV24 has acquired the format license from Sony Pictures Television for Switzerland. The Swiss adaptation of the format is the next major in-house production announced by the Swiss entertainment channel after "Ninja Warrior Switzerland." The first season of the Swiss version of "Die Höhle der Löwen" will be shown weekly in primetime on TV24 in 2019. In each episode, young entrepreneurs with the most diverse business ideas and corporate concepts will appear before investors and solicit their commitment.
TV24 is currently in talks with selected Swiss "lions". TV24 will announce more information about the investors, the exact broadcast date and the application process at a later date.
