Swiss Association of Municipalities says no to No Billag initiative
The No Billag initiative threatens the 34 regional radio and television stations that also receive fees and thus calls into question the diversity of media and opinion. For these reasons, the Swiss Association of Municipalities has unanimously decided to vote against the initiative.
"The linguistic and cultural diversity in Switzerland would also be negatively affected," according to Thursday's statement. This would be felt above all in the mountain regions. The initiative will be voted on March 4, 2018. (SDA)
