Automobil Revue presents its new concept at Auto Züri

After 333 days, the publishers of Automobil Revue/Revue Automobile are presenting the new concept to the trade and subscriber circles at Auto Zürich 2018.

The new concept includes the redesign of the traditional paper, the catalog and the relaunch of a high-quality magazine. At the same time, the branding was revised and further developed. The first appearance of all new products will be at the Auto Salon 2018 in Geneva.

There's life in the old dog yet

When the new ownership took over the business just over a year ago, the goal was set to make AR's publishing, editorial and products fit for the future. "We took 333 days to review and question the organization, structures and processes. From this, we developed strategy, concept and products. But we also intensively surveyed the environment, subscribers, readers and influencers to identify their needs and meet the demands for the future," says publisher Markus Mehr.

The first tangible result of this work is now available: The zero numbers of the newspaper and the magazine will be presented at the Auto Zürich car show. The magazine will be published ten times a year, the newspaper will now appear every 14 days, and the catalog will reach collectors annually as before. All products will continue to be published bilingually, in German and French, and will be available for subscription separately or as a combination, or for purchase at newsstands. "Print first is clear to us - as a trade publisher, we believe in print media," Mehr said. But, of course, the trio will be accompanied by corresponding online and social media channels with an eye to the future.

Like a concept car

The media makers have taken their inspiration from the carmakers: "Analogous to a Concept car we present our new products to the public after the said 333 days. In doing so, we invite the automotive industry and subscribers in particular to provide their input and your needs so that these can be incorporated into the final product," says Markus Mehr.

Accordingly, the newspaper, magazine and catalog, flanked by a sustainable online strategy, are to be equipped for the future and launched in time for the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. (pd/hae)
