From August 17, 2017, the new weekly newspaper "A" will appear every Thursday. Among other things, this integrates the editorial content and advertisements of the previous Anzeiger, GOZ and HeZ and supplements them with local stories and local and regional advertisements. With a circulation of around 300,000 copies and a readership of around 400,000 people, "A" will become the print medium with the widest reach in eastern Switzerland.

Subscribers to the St. Galler Tagblatt and its regional editions, as well as the Thurgauer Zeitung, receive "A" as a supplement to their newspaper. The new free newspaper, which is published in newspaper format, is distributed simultaneously to non-subscribers in eastern Switzerland and appears in eight regional sub-issues.

Editorially, "A" will reflect what's happening in eastern Switzerland, interview and portray people, give tips for leisure activities, report on news and trends on a wide range of topics from enjoyment to architecture, and entertain with puzzles and competitions. "'A' will have its finger on the pulse and be close to the people. With surprising stories and a cheeky, pictorial layout, 'A' will appeal in particular to a younger audience," enthuses Stefan Bai, Head of Advertising Market Eastern and Central Switzerland.
