SZ, Tagi, Bund and SoZ move closer together

The editorial teams of Süddeutsche Zeitung and Tages-Anzeiger, Der Bund and SonntagsZeitung agree on a comprehensive cooperation. From 2017, the editorial teams will have a joint, global network of correspondents. The exchange of texts, images and infographics on digital platforms is to be expanded in stages.

kooperation

The editorial teams of Süddeutsche Zeitung and Tages-Anzeiger, Der Bund and SonntagsZeitung are expanding their cooperation, which has been in place since 2009, and agreeing on an exclusive collaboration. Germany's biggest national quality daily newspaper and Switzerland's biggest subscribed daily newspaper already manage individual correspondents jointly, coordinate coverage of major sporting events and exchange individual articles.

One of the largest networks of correspondents in the German-speaking world

Starting next year, Süddeutsche Zeitung and Tages-Anzeiger will jointly operate one of the largest correspondent networks in the German-speaking world with more than 20 joint correspondents. The Tages-Anzeiger will contribute its correspondents and also buy into the Süddeutsche Zeitung network. The correspondent network is managed by a joint committee of both editorial teams.

Exchange of texts, images and infographics

In addition to foreign reporting, the cooperation covers other topics in which a national perspective is not central, including knowledge, culture & society, and sports. In addition to the mutual exchange of contributions (articles, images, infographics, etc.), the respective departments will intensify their joint planning, especially for major events such as the Olympic Games or soccer World Cup.

Grown cooperation and joint journalistic focus

"The cooperation between our two editorial teams has grown historically. We look forward to working even more closely with our colleagues from Switzerland in the future and mutually exchanging experience and know-how," says Wolfgang Krach, Editor-in-Chief of Süddeutsche Zeitung. "Süddeutsche Zeitung and Tages-Anzeiger are linked not only by a long-standing partnership but also by a common journalistic orientation. Together, we want to continue to offer our readers the best foreign reporting and a surprising, well-researched and entertaining newspaper every day," says Arthur Rutishauser, Editor-in-Chief of Tages-Anzeiger and SonntagsZeitung.
