Takeover offer for L'Agefi

There could be a change of ownership at the business newspaper L'Agefi in western Switzerland. Businessman Antoine Hubert has made a takeover bid in his own name.

Because it was impossible for the previous majority shareholder Alain Duménil to support the newspaper more strongly, he submitted a takeover bid to the board of directors as a private individual, Hubert announced on Monday evening. He is already a member of the newspaper's board of directors and represents the holding company Aevis Victoria, which holds 49 percent of the business newspaper.

Hubert is the founder of the Swiss Medical Network, a group of private clinics throughout Switzerland. This is a subsidiary of Aevis. Its majority shareholder is French businessman Alain Duménil, against whom tax proceedings have been ongoing since 2014. The Federal Court confirmed the seizure of assets in March 2015 and rejected appeals by Duménil. The business newspaper L'Agefi has been in the red since 2003. The newspaper announced a capital increase back in 2015, but it has not yet been implemented. (SDA)
