Le Matin Soir launches
On October 31, 2016, the French-speaking Swiss medium launched Le Matin du Soir, a daily digital paid subscription positioned to complement its newspaper and free website.
The French-speaking Swiss newspaper Le Matin will publish the first Matin du Soir at 5 p.m. on Monday. The paid evening edition will be distributed online only and will be designed in the style of a magazine. The content of this new offering from the Tamedia title will appear "nowhere else," as Grégoire Nappey, editor-in-chief of Le Matin, told the S news agency. This is entirely new, he said.
The new online evening edition will move away from tabloid content and be more of a magazine. According to Nappey, readers will be offered an "original surfing experience with virtual playing cards that all contain articles on a selected topic."
