Nadja Schildknecht gives up ZFF presidency

After buying a majority stake in the Zurich Film Festival, NZZ CEO Veit Dengler is reshuffling the board of directors. Founder Nadja Schildknecht is no longer president of Zurich Film Festival AG, the organizer of the cultural event.

This is shown by the minutes of the Extraordinary General Meeting of August 22, which are available to the Handelszeitung. Monica Dell'Anna is the new chairman of the board. She is a member of the NZZ Executive Board and also heads other NZZ events such as the Swiss Economic Forum. Nadja Schildknecht - the partner of Credit Suisse President Urs Rohner - is now only a simple member of the board. As festival director, however, she is undisputed. "My function remains the same," Schildknecht tells Handelszeitung.

NZZ announced two weeks ago that it had bought a majority stake in the Zurich cultural event. The media group holds 52 percent of Zurich Film Festival AG, the organizer of the Zurich Film Festival, and of the marketing organization Spoundation Motion Picture AG. The two founders Nadja Schildknecht and Karl Spörri and Internet pioneer Thomas Sterchi each hold 16 percent.

The twelfth Zurich Film Festival will take place from September 22 to October 2, 2016. The program will be published on September 8, 2016.
