WOZ wants to be on the publisher's board

The left-wing weekly newspaper is sending its own candidate into the race for the presidency of the Association of Swiss Media.

As Schweiz am Sonntag writes, WOZ is sending its own candidate for the association's board in the form of deputy editorial director Kaspar Surber. Surber wants to work in particular to safeguard the independence and quality of the media. Points that he sees in danger following statements by several members of the presidium that the separation of advertising and content should be relativized: "On this point, WOZ wants to counterbalance and insist on the independence of journalism."
