Both the professional association Imprint, as well as the trade union Syndicom regret in messages on Tuesday that no buyer could be found for the social TV station Joiz. "The young, creative team in front of and behind the camera made innovative and courageous television. The station grew in the good five years to an important platform for young talents in music scene and in politics," writes Syndicom. "It is therefore an extreme pity" that no further funds will be invested in this "hopeful media brand". The union demands that the board of directors cushion the discontinuation of the station for the affected employees "as socially acceptable as possible". Wages and other entitlements are to be guaranteed so that further career advancement is assured.

Imprint is also demanding that the station support the 75 employees, who shared a total of 57 full-time positions, in their search for new employment. And assures that "Switzerland's largest journalists' organization will stand by the affected journalists with advice and support during this turbulent time." (hae)
