Josefsohn, who was born in Hamburg in 1961 and lives in Berlin, photographed a well-known advertising campaign for the music channel MTV in the 1990s. Josefsohn was a skater before his visual language played a major role in shaping the aesthetic of the 1990s. He became famous with the MTV poster "Miststück," with which he created an icon somewhere between bitch and girlie. Josefsohn's MTV posters were so popular that they were constantly being ripped off the walls. Josefsohn had suffered a stroke in 2012 and had been disabled ever since. With his series "Am Leben" for Zeit magazine, he and his partner Karin Müller documented his time after the stroke. The series won the German LeadAward for best reportage photography. (SDA)
