Philipp Mäder becomes Dorer's deputy

Christian Dorer will take over his role as Editor-in-Chief at Sonntagsblick on February 1, 2017 at the latest. Philipp Mäder, currently Head of News at Schweizer Illustrierte, will become his Deputy Editor-in-Chief.

As already announced by Sonntagspresse, Christian Dorer will become Editor-in-Chief of Sonntagsblick (Werbewoche.ch reported). Dorer has worked for Ringier before: He graduated from the Ringier School of Journalism in 2000, then worked as business editor for Blick, from 2002 to 2007 as federal parliament correspondent for Blick and Sonntagsblick, and from 2007 to 2009 as deputy editor-in-chief of SonntagsBlick. In February 2009, he took over as editor-in-chief of the Aargauer Zeitung / AZ Nordwestschweiz. In addition, he hosts the program "TalkTäglich" on Tele M1 and has also been president of the Conference of Swiss Editors-in-Chief since 2014. Dorer will take over his position at Sonntagsblick on February 1, 2017 at the latest.

Also effective February 1, 2017, Philipp Mäder, currently Head of News at Schweizer Illustrierte, will become Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Sonntagsblick. The 42-year-old was previously Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Aargauer Zeitung and Federal House Editor at the Tages-Anzeiger.

Philippe Pfister, who has led Sonntagsblick as Deputy Editor-in-Chief on an interim basis since May 2016, will remain in his current role until further notice, according to the statement. Katia Murmann, page maker and member of the Sonntagsblick editorial board, will retain her duties.
