AZ Medien launches new TV station TV25 in 2016

AZ Medien is continuing to invest in television and is launching a second national station, TV25, in 2016. The focus of the new station is entertainment.

TV25 offers "sophisticated entertainment for the household audience with a wide range of European feature films, high-quality documentaries, arthouse films and Swiss in-house productions," according to a statement. The new channel complements AZ Medien's TV portfolio, consisting of regional channels Tele Züri, Tele M1, Tele Bärn and national channel TV24, which was launched in spring 2014. With the launch of TV25, AZ Medien wants to reaffirm its commitment to the TV business.

"With our new national program, we are appealing in particular to viewers who value quality television with Swiss roots," explains Roger Elsener, Managing Director of TV AZ Medien. TV25 will be receivable digitally throughout Switzerland and broadcast in HD quality. Broadcasting is scheduled to start in the second quarter of 2016.
