Swiss Journalist: Kurt W. Zimmermann becomes new editor-in-chief

The long-standing editor-in-chief of the industry magazine Schweizer Journalist, Markus Wiegand, is stepping down at the beginning of 2016. His successor will be Kurt W. Zimmermann.

Wiegand confirmed on Thursday evening on inquiry a report of the small report. Zimmermann will take over the chief editorship for one year for the time being, publisher Johann Oberauer is quoted by "Kleinreport". It had been Zimmermann's suggestion "to try this once so whether it fits for all". Among other things, Zimmermann had been editor-in-chief of the Sonntagszeitung in the early 1990s, after which he was founder and publisher of the news magazine Facts. He currently writes columns for Weltwoche, among other publications.

Zimmermann succeeds Wiegand, who has been editor-in-chief of Schweizer Journalist magazine since its launch in 2005. He is now moving to Germany to join the print edition of Kress Report. After ten years, he was in the mood for something new, he said, explaining his move. Schweizer Journalist is published every two months and has an average circulation of 5100 copies, according to the publisher. (SDA)
