Marianne Janik becomes new Microsoft Switzerland boss

Marianne Janik is moving from Microsoft Germany to Microsoft Switzerland as of July 1. In her role as Country General Manager, she reports directly to Eric Boustoullier, Corporate Vice President Western Europe. She succeeds Petra Jenner, who will step down from her position at the end of June.

Marianne Janik, 49, has been Senior Director Public Sector at Microsoft Germany since 2011 and is responsible for public administration, education and healthcare. Over the past four years, she has achieved continuous growth in this key business area for Microsoft and successfully supported her customers in their innovation and transformation processes. A native of France with a doctorate in law, she has many years of sales and management experience in various companies and industries. Marianne Janik started her professional career at Daimler Benz AG in the Public Affairs department. Subsequently, she took over the contract department at an EADS subsidiary and then the sales department for the government, armed forces and industrial customer business. Marianne Janik is married and the mother of two children.

Petra Jenner has decided to leave Microsoft after around six years to take on a new external challenge. The 50-year-old joined Microsoft in early 2009 in the role of Managing Director for the Austrian market. After two and a half years, which were very successful despite the global economic crisis, Petra Jenner moved to Switzerland in October 2011 to succeed Peter Waser. During her time in Switzerland, Petra Jenner was strongly committed to the topic of digital transformation and in particular to leadership and collaboration in the digital age. She accompanied numerous local companies in their transformation process and also successfully drove the change to the "mobile first - cloud first" era within Microsoft.
