Bakom gives SRG good marks

OFCOM gives SRG good marks for its financial reporting and real estate management. There is only potential for improvement in certain areas.

The second part of SRG's performance audit focused on the areas of finance and real estate. SRG was scrutinized by the Federal Office of Communications (OFCOM) on behalf of the Federal Department of the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications (DETEC). According to information provided on Tuesday, Bakom found that SRG systematically plans and records its costs and services. The organization of SRG also makes a good overall impression in the area of real estate. OFCOM only requires that the certification of the real estate department is also implemented at regional level.

In the previous year, the first audit cycle covered the central management processes of corporate governance, strategy, strategy implementation, planning, management by objectives and internal audit. The performance audit has been completed with the third cycle. This will cover the areas of purchasing and procurement of services, personnel and advertising acquisition. In Switzerland, around CHF 1.3 billion of reception fees are available each year to support licensed radio and television broadcasters. SRG receives around CHF 1.2 billion to fulfill its service mandate.

SRG can be pleased about the good marks from the supervisory authority. On June 14, Swiss voters will vote on the new reception fee regulations. This is not uncontroversial politically. (SDA)
