S1 shows Swiss comedy series "Fässler-Kunz

The Swiss comedy series "Fässler-Kunz", produced in 2014 and starring Esther Gemsch and Patrick Frey, will be shown on free TV for the first time.

"Fässler-Kunz" tells the story of a well-off Swiss couple on the verge of retirement in a comedically poignant way. The series was written by Katja Früh and Patrick Frey.

Céline (Esther Gemsch) and Thomas (Patrick Frey) Fässler-Kunz are the conflict-ridden main characters of the series. They experience the everyday ups and downs of an ageing relationship. In the process, the two repeatedly get into embarrassing but funny situations - especially unintentionally.

"Ageing is a topic of great and increasing social importance. And as we all know, it is usually a rather serious matter. However, this so-called third phase of life also has distinct comedic potential," program director Mike Gut was quoted as saying in a statement on Thursday.

The series will be broadcast on Thursdays at 6.30 p.m. on S1 from March 5, 2015.
