Facebook: Marianne Dölz takes over DACH management

Marianne Dölz is taking over the management of Facebook in the German-speaking region. The 47-year-old media expert will be responsible for Switzerland, Germany and Austria in the future.

In the more than 25 years of her career, Dölz has witnessed the beginnings of private television as well as the lasting changes in the media market brought about by digitization. After starting her career on the agency side, where as a media expert she looked after international blue chips such as Unilever, Allianz and Adidas, she became Managing Director of the Hamburg-based media agency Initiative Media at the age of just 29. In 2006, she became CEO of Initiative Germany and a member of Initiative Media's EMEA Board. After 22 years on the agency side, she moved to the Handelsblatt publishing group, where as Managing Director she headed the advertising marketing subsidiary IQ Media Marketing and was responsible for sales and product marketing for Handelsblatt and Wirtschaftswoche.

The experienced media manager has served on numerous juries in the communications industry, including Cannes Lions (2006) and GWA Effie (2007 and 2008). She has also received several awards herself, including "The 100 Top Women in Business" (2010, Handelsblatt) and "Top 100 Managers" (2010, 2013, W&V). After many years in large companies, Marianne Dölz took a stake in the Hamburg-based start-up Liberta Motorcycles with other partners to gain new experience. "Leading Facebook in the German-speaking region is a task that grabs me and that I am insanely looking forward to," Marianne Dölz said in a statement on Monday.

Dölz' predecessor F. Scott Woods, who had held the job since 2009, wants to devote himself to new tasks within the company at his own request.
