"Tagesschau": Angélique Wälchli new presenter

The "Tagesschau" anchor team is complete again: Angélique Wälchli is moving within SRF from radio to the TV news programme. There she will present the "Tagesschau" editions at 12.45 and 18.00 as well as the "Tagesschau Nacht".

Angélique Wälchli has many years of experience in radio. From 1999 to 2002 she was an editor and presenter at Radio Förderband - later Radio BE1. She then worked in the same capacity for DRS Virus until 2004. After a longer stay abroad and a detour into the communications industry, Angélique Wälchli became editor-in-chief at Radio Canal 3 in Biel/Bienne in 2006. Since July 2008, the 39-year-old has been working for Swiss Radio SRF as an editor and service manager in the newsroom in Berne and as presenter of "Info 3".

Angélique Wälchli's education is multifaceted. In addition to basic journalistic training through various internal courses and internships at Radio DRS, she also holds a Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) in Communication Management and Leadership from ZHAW Winterthur. She also graduated from the European Film Actor School in Zurich. Angélique Wälchli will join the editorial team of the "Tagesschau" on 1 June 2015, succeeding Pascale Menzi, who, as previously announced, left SRF at the end of January 2015.

Angélique Wälchli in a press release: "Already at my first "Tagesschau" visit I would have liked to stay the same: a great team that does sensational work in my eyes and that day after day. I think it would be great to soon become a member of this editorial team. After many exciting years behind the radio microphone, I'm now looking forward to working in front of and behind the TV camera."
