Job recruiters want to break Jocloud's dominance

The Jobcloud platform from Tamedia and Ringier dominates the online job market with 70 percent of the market. Adecco and other recruitment agencies are fighting back against this.

The recruitment agencies Adecco and Manpower are currently in negotiations with the online job platform Jobcloud. This is according to the Handelszeitung. The reason is price increases of up to 70 percent on portals such as Jobs.ch, Jobup.ch and Jobwinner.ch.

Negotiations are underway with a view to the contracts expiring at the end of October, as the Head of Marketing at Adecco Switzerland, José M. San José, confirmed to Handelszeitung. The contracts between Manpower and Jobcloud also expire at the end of the year, confirms Manpower Switzerland CEO Patrick Maier. Whether they will be continued and on what terms is currently unclear.

The Competition Commission has already received complaints about Jobcloud's strong position in the market. But the job brokers are helping themselves in the meantime. As the Handelszeitung writes, Adecco and Co are planning to set up a rival platform to curb Joblcoud's dominance. Talks are currently underway with technology and consulting firms in Switzerland and abroad. The industry association Swissstaffing is also to be brought on board to join forces against the market giant.
