After only one episode: End for Hunziker show
Setback for Michelle Hunziker - ZDF is discontinuing her show "Die grosse Überraschungsshow" after just one edition. This was announced by the Mainz-based broadcaster on Saturday evening. The decision against a second episode was made "jointly".
According to the press release, Hunziker said: "We deliberately decided to start with one or two episodes to test out whether viewers want to watch such a show at the moment."
Zweite will continue its collaboration with the presenter and will develop joint concepts. "We definitely want to continue working with Michelle Hunziker and there are already ideas," explained Head of Entertainment Oliver Fuchs. "Michelle is a great entertainer with great authenticity and heart, and we would like to see her in more programs here on ZDF." Just 3.32 million viewers watched the premiere of Hunziker's Wednesday evening show at the end of March. The market share of the show, in which wishes were granted mainly to volunteers, was 10.4 percent. (SDA)
