New Head of Digital at the Observer
Pia Engels, 32, is taking over as head of digital at the Observer with immediate effect. This means that the interim management solution in place since December 2013 is now definitive.
She takes over from Monica Muijsers, who will take on a new challenge outside of Axel Springer Switzerland after many years of working for the publishing house, as the publishing house announced in a statement on Friday.
As Head of Digital, Engels is responsible for the strategic development, commercialization and operational management of all digital activities of the Beobachter Group, according to a statement. The 32-year-old business economist joined Axel Springer Switzerland a year ago as Project Manager Digital Business Development. She played a leading role in the development of digital payment models and already headed the digital division of the Beobachter Group on an interim basis from December 2013.
