SDA Group with profit decline in 2012

Earnings before interest and taxes (Ebit) in the SDA Group improved markedly by 59.6 percent to 2.24 million francs in the reporting year, according to the SDA Group's 2012 annual report published on Friday. Depreciation of property, plant and equipment and amortization of intangible assets more than doubled to 422'000 francs (previous year 182'000 francs). The consolidation of SDA Informatik as of October 1, 2012 had an impact here.

Amortization of goodwill and licenses amounted to CHF 2.29 million (previous year CHF 1.48 million). Due to the insolvency of DAPD News Agency and the termination of the contract for the supply of the AP service, the license had to be derecognized. Equity increased by 7.8 percent to 21.7 million Swiss francs. The equity ratio thus amounts to 70 percent. The SDA Group employed a total of 317 people last year.

The Swiss Dispatch Agency (SDA), Switzerland's national news agency, more than doubled its Ebit to CHF 664'000. Sales stagnated at 26.6 million francs. Below the line, a loss of 72'000 francs resulted (previous year -702'000 francs). In addition to the parent company SDA, the SDA Group includes Sportinformation (100 percent), News Aktuell (50 percent), the photo agency Keystone (40 percent) and the financial news agency AWP (35 percent). The annual report of the SDA Group is available at Sda.ch available. (SDA)
