Beatrice Müller to leave SRF at the end of July 2013

Tagesschau" presenter Beatrice Müller is leaving Swiss Radio and Television (SRF) at her own request at the end of July. She was "Tagesschau" presenter at Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen for 16 years.

Beatrice Müller is setting up her own communications agency in Zurich. This was announced by SRF on Thursday. She has worked for Swiss radio and television for more than 25 years.

From 1984 to 1994, Beatrice Müller worked for Radio DRS 1, including the Regional Journal Zurich/Schaffhausen. In 1994, she was employed by the Beobachter advice program, and from 1995 to 1996 she worked at "Echo der Zeit". In 1996, she switched to television in the editorial department of "Tagesschau", where she has been presenting programs, conducting interviews and realizing contributions since 1997.

"I have decided to set out on my career path once again. 52 is a good age to focus on passing on experience," says Beatrice Müller about her professional reorientation. She says she was proud to have worked for "Tagesschau," always felt honored to be a member of this flagship that stood for good journalism every day. "Tagesschau" editorial director Urs Leuthard regrets Beatrice Müller's departure. She had shaped the "Tagesschau" for a long time, "not only as a professional and always factual presenter, but also as a reporter," he says.
