Christoph Bauer leaves AZ Medien

Christoph Bauer has decided to leave AZ Medien at the end of 2012 to pursue a new direction. He took over operational responsibility as CEO on January 1, 2010 with a horizon of three years.

After the end of the 2012 financial year, Christoph Bauer will hand over the management of the company to Peter Wanner. Wanner will manage AZ Medien on an interim basis until a new operational head is appointed. Bauer's departure comes as a surprise, said Peter Wanner in an interview with Werbewoche. It will therefore take one to two months to find a successor just before Christmas. However, not much will change in the meantime.

The three years under Bauer's leadership were "very successful", according to a statement from AZ Medien. The restructuring of the company in just one year was followed by the acquisition of Tele Züri and Tele Bärn the following year. In the current year, in addition to the market development in Basel and the launch of "Nordwestschweiz", many new projects were initiated and successfully completed. The Board of Directors regrets his departure, the press release continues.
