Werner De Schepper becomes editor-in-chief of Tele Bärn

Former Blick editor-in-chief Werner De Schepper (47) will take over as head of Tele Bärn's editorial team in March 2013. He succeeds Matthias Lauterburg, who is retiring after more than 13 years at the Bern-based station.

The new Tele Bärn editor-in-chief has almost 30 years of journalistic experience: After completing his studies in theology, Werner De Schepper entered journalism in 1984 at the then Solothurner Nachrichten, according to a statement. In the course of his long journalistic career, De Schepper was editor-in-chief of Blick from 2003 to 2007, among other positions. Since 2009, he has served as deputy editor-in-chief of AZ Aargauer Zeitung. During this time, Werner De Schepper also gained his first TV experience by regularly hosting the talk shows "Duell aktuell" and (since August 2012) "Talktäglich" on Tele M1.

The 47-year-old Werner De Schepper is married, has two children and lives in Olten. In his new role as Editor-in-Chief of Tele Bärn, he will report to Marc Friedli, who as Program Director of TeleBärn and Tele M1 has overall programming responsibility for the two stations.
