"Quartz" from 2013 in Geneva and Zurich

From 2013, the Swiss Film Prize "Quartz" will be held alternately in Geneva and Zurich. The tandem's candidacy convinced the Federal Office of Culture with its locational advantages and a concept of cultural exchange between western and German-speaking Switzerland.

The next award ceremony will take place on March 23, 2013 at the Bâtiment des Forces Motrices BFM in Geneva. The Federal Office of Culture has chosen a city tandem in the competition for the future venue of the Swiss Film Prize "Quartz": The Geneva-Zurich project was selected from three convincing dossiers. From 2013, the Swiss Film Prize will thus be held alternately in Geneva and Zurich.

The Canton of Geneva, the City of Geneva and the City of Zurich are founding an association for this purpose and committing themselves to a four-year commitment with an option to continue. The Federal Office of Culture acts as organizer of the award ceremony, in collaboration with the media partner SRG and Swiss Films. Partners are the Swiss Film Academy and the Solothurn Film Festival.

The alternating venues are intended to promote cultural exchange between Western and German-speaking Switzerland and to strengthen synergies in the field of film production and culture.
