Tele Züri, Tele M1 and Tele Bärn: Restructuring

There will be a restructuring at Tele Züri, Tele M1 and Tele Bärn. The stations will still present local news, but will also air joint broadcast formats.

Claudia Bossert (47) takes over the management of the newly founded TV station family of AZ Medien. Bossert is a qualified PR consultant and worked in various functions at Swiss Television for more than 20 years. She will take up her new post on July 1, 2012 at the latest.

The TV station family will be organized into four divisions with immediate effect: Tele Züri programming, Tele M1 and Tele Bärn programming, marketing, and technology and production. Markus Gilli (56) remains Program Director and Editor-in-Chief of Tele Züri. Marc Friedli (46), previously Managing Director of Tele M1, is now responsible as Program Director for Tele M1 and Tele Bärn, together with the Editors-in-Chief Stephan Gassner (Tele M1) and Matthias Lauterburg (Tele Bärn). Andrea Haemmerli (44), Managing Director of Belcom AG, will take over regional advertising marketing for Tele M1 and Tele Bärn as Head of Marketing in addition to her previous duties. Peter Canale (53), previously Head of Operations and Technology Tele Züri, is responsible for the newly created Technology and Production division in addition to his previous duties.

For TeleZüri, Tele M1 and TeleBärn, a harmonization of the hourly programming grid is planned for the course of the year. The existing focus on news and information formats during the first half hour will remain unchanged. Each of the three stations will continue to produce news and information formats independently for their respective audiences in the editorial offices in Zurich, Aarau and Berne. The second half hour will feature joint talk and entertainment formats with a regional focus. This concept ensures that existing, successful formats are developed further, journalistic quality is improved and the independence of the editorial teams is preserved. As the first joint format, Tel eZüri's successful "SonnTalk" will be broadcast on Tele M1 from March 1, 2012 and on Tele Bärn from July 1, 2012.

At the same time as the harmonization and further development of the program grid, synergies will be realized in the area of production and the technical studio infrastructure at the Aarau and Bern locations. As a result, 9 employees will have to be laid off, leading to a reduction of 6.9 full-time positions. The concept of three studio and production locations in Zurich, Aarau and Bern will be retained.
