New head of SF's "Tagesschau" editorial team: Urs Leuthard

Urs Leuthard will take over as editorial director of "Tagesschau" at the beginning of 2012. He was previously head and presenter of "Rundschau" on Swiss television.

Leuthard succeeds Thomas Schäppi, who will become program developer for SRF's TV editorial department. The latter has headed the "Tagesschau" editorial team since 2008 and will also take on his new role at the beginning of 2012. The new "Tagesschau" editorial director is looking forward to "being able to take on more management responsibility again," Schweizer Fernsehen SF announced on Thursday.

Leuthard has been head of "Rundschau" for four years. Since 2002, he has also hosted the voting programs and the session program Classe politique. He will continue to host the voting broadcasts. The moderator position at "Rundschau" has not yet been filled.
