Twitter increasingly relies on advertising

The microblogging platform Twitter is expanding its "promoted tweets" business model. Until now, paid company messages only appeared in the timeline of their followers.

Now individual users will also be able to see the commercial tweets if they could belong to the relevant target group. According to Wuv.de, a Twitter spokesperson told PC Magazine that Twitter wanted to keep a close eye on the reactions of the first users and only then expand the function to more members.
