Twitter increasingly relies on advertising

The microblogging platform Twitter is expanding its "promoted tweets" business model. Until now, the paid company messages only appeared in the timeline of their followers.

Now, individual users will also be able to see the commercial tweets if they belong to the relevant target group. Twitter wants to keep a close eye on the reactions of the first users and only then expand the function to more members, a Twitter spokesperson told PC Magazine, according to Wuv.de.
