Urs Fitze appointed new head of SRF's fiction division

Urs Fitze, currently Head of TV Coordination at SRG in Bern, will become Head of SRF's Fiction Division on November 1, 2011.

Urs Fitze will take over as head of fiction within the culture department of Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen on November 1, 2011. He will be responsible for the three editorial departments Pacte and Co-Productions, TV Film and Series, and Film and Series Purchasing, according to a statement on Wednesday.

Since the beginning of 2011, Fitze has been Head of TV Coordination at the SRG General Directorate, responsible for film productions under the "Pacte de l'audiovisuel," national television projects and international contacts. Before that, the film studies graduate worked for around twenty years on cultural and entertainment formats for Swiss television, initially as a director, then as an editor, producer and deputy head of editorial, most recently as program developer for the culture and entertainment departments. During this time, successful formats such as "Einfachluxuriös," "Die grössten Schweizer Hits," "Giacobbo / Müller," "SF bi de Lüt," "Die lange Nacht des Schweizer Films" and various thematic focuses in culture were created.

Talks are underway with Peter Studhalter, who has been head of the fiction division and head of the editorial department for TV films and series, about future responsibilities for co-produced crime films.
