Will Radio 24 not be sold after all?

Tamedia may not want to sell Zurich-based Radio 24 after all. The media company has not yet found a suitable buyer - and the station's earnings have improved significantly.

At the half-year financial press conference, Chairman of the Board of Directors Pietro Supino said that Radio 24's results had improved significantly. Tamedia's figures do not reveal how much profit the station made. Apparently, however, the improvement has an influence on the sales negotiations. According to the news agency SDA, Supino is calmly examining whether and to whom Radio 24 should be sold. The word "whether" indicates the possibility that Tamedia will not part with Radio 24 after all. The future of the station is to be clarified by the end of the year.

The same applies to Capital FM from Bern. Supino did not comment on the latter on Wednesday. Last week, Tamedia announced that it would sell the two TV stations Tele Züri and Tele Bärn to AZ Medien in Aarau. The sales price is not known.
