Schweizer Illustrierte: Ringier parts ways with Editor-in-Chief Nik Niethammer

There will be a change in the management of Schweizer Illustrierte: Ringier is parting ways with Editor-in-Chief Nik Niethammer. The deputy editor-in-chief of SI, Stefan Regez, will take over as interim editor-in-chief from September 1.

Ringier is parting ways with Nik Niethammer due to differing ideas about the future direction and concept of the magazine (picture above), the company wrote in a press release on Wednesday. He is handing over the reins to his deputy Stefan Regez. The 40-year-old has been a member of the editorial team since April 2010.

As editor-in-chief, Niethammer has significantly revised the visual language of the renowned Schweizer Illustrierte and further developed the proven people concept, the press release continues. He led the magazine into the digital age, greatly expanded the online editorial team and was responsible for the introduction and implementation of SI's internationally acclaimed eMagazine for the iPad.

Urs Heller, Head of Magazines Ringier Switzerland: "I would like to thank Nik Niethammer for his great commitment and dedication and wish him all the best for his future career."
